Jesse Chavez

Jesse Chavez is an engineer, entrepreneur, and community builder focused on expanding access to education, technology, and workforce pathways for students. A graduate of Midland High School and Midland College, he was a founding member of the Midland College gaming club before earning a Petroleum Engineering degree from the University of Texas Permian Basin and spending eight years in the oil field. Jesse has led and supported initiatives across additive manufacturing, esports, media production, and workforce training, including founding Colpkin Studios and launching the Sky Fox Studio Project. He later returned to UTPB to help lead the creation of the Advanced Manufacturing Center and oversee the development of a manufacturing training program. Through this work, he recognized the need to help schools and students build structured programs and pathways, which led to the founding of Colpkin Cares. He has since been appointed as the first Executive Director and has stepped down from the board of directors.
